I'm just wondering if there are any laws that can prevent me from leaving the state with his unborn child...can he take me to court? Also...because I have no health insurance I have to be on public assistance which means he may be liable for some costs of the delivery...and NY will make him pay child support...if he pays child support will he make me move back to PA...I just wish I knew these things...he's telling me so many different things. He like sometimes wants me to let him raise the child so I can finish my masters, then other times wants me to put it up for adoption which I could never do, he's even gone as far as to say he will pay me support and then I will write him a check for the money back...really?

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas as to what laws or injunctions pertain to this situation...

You can move states up until the child is born easily. He would have to have a really good lawyer to have you dragged back to PA. NY will have him liable for some of the costs and definately child support.

You don't have to give him back the child support. It will be deducted off any public assistance you are receiving though.

The sooner you move and establish yourslf and your support system in the area you live the better for you and your baby.

I would say, get out ASAP. leave him and get as far away as you can! he cant take back your support money or tell you what to do. its what the state makes him do!

I say get yourself settled #1. Make sure your in a place where you have a fantastic support system in place and ready for when this baby comes. Second no he can't drag you anywhere. But if you want him paying child support he will have a right to see the child and be in their life and there's not really anything you can do about that. Only you two will have to go to court with a drawn up agreement about vists and transportation of the child to and from. And NO once the state deducts cs from his pay he has no right to it thats money for you to take care of your baby...but also understand when he has that child for vists it could be that you'll be paying him cs for the time they are with him or he won't pay at all. These are questions you need to take to your legal aide and ask. They are going to give you the best answers to any and all of your questions and will explain them so you can understand. I wish you lots of luck.

follow your heart with what you think is best for you and your baby. it seems like his thoughts is unstable, changing his mind about things.
