first i will tell you that i don't normally have reliable periods, nor are they normal in length or amount of flow (very light for less than a day)...so, i don't know the date of my last period...that piece of history now known: on july 3rd i did a store baught test b/c i was already expierencing pregnant like symptoms (sore breasts, light nausea, pinching feeling in lower abdomen)...the test was positive. on aug 1st i saw a doctor who did a qualitative blood test and confirmed the pos result...at that time they avg due date was mar 13th...aug 13th i went back and they did a pelvic/pap, i told him i had had fever for a day and a half and didn't "feel" pregnant anymore and asked if that was normal...they told me i was just getting used to feeling pregnant and that the pelvic exam results were that my uterus was enlarged...aug 19th my spouse and i had sex and after i bled slightly...it was very little and dark brown just when i wiped...i called the nurse told me it was normal and it should stop in a day and not turn bright red or have any other adjoining symptoms such as back pain or cramping...it did go away the next morning...a day and a half later it strted again aug 22nd...i called right away...they set an appt that day for 3...it was light and brown all day until i went into the office...the nurse had me pee in a cup, at that point it had turned bright red and a bit more of a flow...they did a pelvic exam: cervix was closed and uterus was still enlarged...he sent me for an ultrasound...to my knowledge they thought i was almost 11 wks by now but the ultrasound showed only a sac and no heartbeat, etc...the lady told me that it measured at 7 wks but visually it seemed to be 5 wks...and that the measurement was not the most accurate...they then sent me for a lab test for quantative hcg levels...i picked those up this morning...this was a friday afternoon so all of the test results would be postponed til monday if i wanted to wait for the doctor...i need to know if i am having a miscarriage or did they just mispredict my due date by that many weeks? the hcg levels were 5461.5...according to the chart they are in the range of a 5 to 6 wk pregnancy...but when you count the weeks from july 3rd the day i tested positive the first time the math doesn't seem to add up unless i was only a few days conceived at the time of testing??? is it possible to have already had pregnancy symptoms within a week of conception? and if i were having a miscarriage wouldn't the bleeding intensify rather than stop and go?
