Hi,

I am 25 and have been married since last 4 years. Since, we were planning to have kids after a couple of years of our marraige and I always had irregular periods, I was prescribed Yasmin (birth control pill) for contraception and to regulate my periods. We have been trying to get pregnant for almost 8 months now with no results. Since last 8 months I have been off of Yasmin, so that I can get pregnant, but I was surprise, that I got my periods for continues 3 cycle (with 30 days each) without YASMIN naturally.

But after that 3rd last cycle, again my periods became irregular. So, then I started taking yasmin for a month, got my period at the end of the same month and would try to get pregnant and wait for another 1 month to check for a positive pregnancy result. If not, then I would repeat the same PROCESS overall again. But no results with that attempt too.

My GYN has now prescribed me Provera 10mg (5 day pill). My question over here is that, could I get pregnant by repeating the same last PROCESS, that I tried by using Yasmin ? I mean when i don't get my period, I take provera 10mg (5 days pill) and then once I get my period can we try to conceive and get any positive results on that ?

Thank you.

i had a d&c for a miscarriage back in february. the bleeding lasted for 4 weeks and was basically hindering my process for healing (it was like a constant reminder of what happened..). when i went in for my post-op checkup, my doctor gave me provera to help stop the bleeding and give me a normal period. i took the provera, 3 days later i got my period, and 3.5 weeks later i found out i was pregnant. provera just induces your period. make sure you follow the directions on the bottle! whatever process the bottle/doctor says to do, you should do.

also, your body may just need time to go back to normal. i, personally, am scared to death to ever take birth control pills because im afraid they will make me sterile. i have a friend that took bc pills for 4 years and now her ovaries refuse to ovulate. after trying for 6-9 months, with no success, i would go to a fertility doctor and get your system checked out to make sure its back to normal. you can ask your doc for Clomid, which helps your ovaries mature and release eggs.

Hi everyone please help..I need your help here. Really I need your help. I'm 24 years old and me and my husband is trying to conceive for about 6 months now. but prior to that I'm taking birth control pills for the last 2 years. I just stop it this January of 2009. So come to think of it we've been trying to have a baby for 6 months now. Here's the problem....Last month of June I had irregular bleeding...My period for June supposed to start on the 20th but started early on 6th..It was too early to have period and the gap is only 14 days after the last day of my last period. I was so worried. Here's the thing, for the first 2 days of bleeding it was only spotting..It was a little brownish in color and the next 8 days is absolutely bleeding like a period and I can say it's not spotting anymore coz I can soak my pad already! FYI I've never been experienced this before, I'm always regular with my period and never got too early or even delayed. After my period, I went to GYN on 29th of June and prescribed me Provera. My Gyn also saw cyst on my ovary which is possibly the reason for abnormal bleeding. Cyst is just like 2 cm size so Doctor told me not to worry and it was curable. So I took Provera for 5 days...June30, July1,2,3,4......MY problem now is that...I still dont have my period as of this very moment.....It's July 15 already.Im freakin excited and worried..Honestly I dont know what I to feel....Am I pregnant? Is it possible for me to get pregnant? or is it early to tell? or maybe I was only delayed...My God Im really confused... I forgot to ask my Doctor when will be my next period after taking Provera so please help me...Or am I just over reacting on the situation...If anybody knows about this or have the idea about it please let me know and it is really appreciated....

from what my doc told me, youre supposed to get your period 3-10 days after you take the last provera pill.

you can do a preg test now if you think youre pregnant. it wouldnt hurt =) if it comes back negative and in a week you still dont have your period, i would take another one.

it is possible the cyst is messing with your menstrual cycle, but im not sure. and the cyst can cause bleeding. the same thing happened to me 14 days into my cycle... i started bleeding and bled for 9 days. but then i got my period on the day of the month i was supposed to... it didnt just skip my period because of all the irregular bleeding half-way through my cycle.

good luck =) and remember... they usually say it takes a year for a 'healthy couple' to conceive. so dont get too worried if you dont conceive before then =)
