Hey girls,

I have a question for you. I had my first baby 3 1/2 months ago. I still haven't had my first period yet, and so I took a test today and it was positive. My question is.......could this be lingering hormones from my first pregnancy...or am I pregnant again? We used spermacides and the contraceptive film too. (used both together)

Well women have become pregnant again sooner than 3 1/2 months after giving birth so I'm inclined to say you have another little one on the way, but I'm not sure how long pregnancy hormones stay in your system. I have a feeling it's only about a month, but I could be wrong. You should definitely make a doctor's appointment!

Yikes! is right!

I would say you are definitely pregnant again. I took a test 3 months after I gave birth and it was CLEARLY negative.

It sucks when contraception fails, but I wish you the best of luck!

wow. you ARE about to get very busy. Well, at least your little one will be about a year when this one is born and hopefully walking and able to tell you whats wrong, sleeping all night, ect.

anyways.. I took a HPT about 2 months after I gave birth and is VERY clear it was neg.

Women ovulate before their next cycle so that could very well be what happened with you, you just never got a chance to have a period. A friend of mine at work went on maternity leave for 12 weeks and came back pregnant. Best of luck hun!!

I thought I was pregnant 5 weeks after I had my baby and I took a test 3 times and each time was negative.

So yes...

Sorry to say, but you are very pregnant indeed!

oh my goodness. yeppers. I'm going to see if my doc has any openings tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until, August 1 to go. I'm pretty sure I'm preggo, just couldn't believe it happened so fast. People are probably going to thinik my hubby and I are animals! haha. We actually have only had sex 3 times since I had my baby and the whole time I was pregnant we held off because we were afraid of hurting him. Must have been all that pent up energy..lol
