So, here is my story. I was on birth
control for 3 years, the pill. For about a
year and half of that I was on a 3 month
cycle to help with my endometriosis
symptoms. I got off birth control when I
got married three years ago. Ever since
then my cycles have been very
unpredictable. I went through about 2
years of just sporadic periods. I would go
a month, two, sometimes 3 with now period.
Then, I would have one for a month or two.
My doctor did one round of Provera during
that time to try to regulate my cycles.
Last fall, I finally seemed to be getting
on track. I began having a period monthly,
however my cycles were very long. Before
ever being on the pill I was very regular,
28 day cycles, on the dot. Once I started
to become regular again, they were
anywhere between 35-40 day cycles. On
April 26 of this year, I began spotting.
It was about a week before I was expecting
to start. However, I never had any flow
during that month. I had some dark brown
discharge for about a day, then had light
red spotting for about 4 days. I haven't
had any period since then, no spotting,
nothing. I took three pregnancy tests
throughout the month of May and then took
two more in the first week of June.
Now, I'm feeling like crap. For about 3
weeks, my breasts have been extremely
sore, enough to wake me up at night.
Usually, when I'm about to start my period
my nipples will be sore for a couple of
days, but this is different. It's not just
the nipple, it's the entire breast. Also,
for about 4 days I have been constipated
and nausous. The nausea comes and goes in
waves throughout the day. It seems to get
worse in the evening and is particularly
bad when I'm hungry. My first thought, of
course, is that I'm pregnant. My husband
and I have sort of been trying (more like
we've just stopped trying not to get
pregnant) for a couple of months. But with
my lack of periods in the last couple of
months, I'm just not sure it's even
possible to be pregnant... Please give me
any advice you have to offer. I have been
hoping to come up pregnant for quite some
time now, and with my sporadic cycles I
could buy stock in pregnancy tests I've
bought so many, always with disappointment
when they are negative. I just don't want
to have yet another negative test....
