Hi i was just browsing for infomation on hernia's i have got the exact same symptoms as you.Mine started about 2 years ago with a little lump appearing next to my hip bone which felt uncomfortable when lying down at night,it popped up then went again. After visiting my doctor several times she said it was my intestine digesting food and because i was thin i was feeling it but ive always been thin so why am i getting it now???She did an examintation and said she couldnt feel anything and nothing was there when i coughed so said it was nothing to worry about. I get a bit of pain with it but like i said its mostly at night im worried because i want another baby soon and scared this may make things worse.I have a 2 and a half year old daughter and sure it all started when i gave birth to her.Have you been advised that its ok to fall pregnant with this problem then???? The only way to describe the lump is its like a sausage shape and im fine if i lie on my side.

To the person who posted directly above me, I also have this problem but it occurs more in the center of my abdomen. It appeared shortly after I gave birth to my daughter. It feels like a sausage or a lump like a golf ball, that pops up every few minutes then goes away. I feel like I can move my intestines around and it is very uncomfortable. I sometimes wonder if it has anything to do with my pregnancy, because my muscles had spead when I was pregnant and never fully returned to normal, and I am thin but have never been able to feel my intestines.

My doctor tells me it is gas, but I feel he doesn't know what he is talking about, so if anyone has any further information on this topic please post it! Thanks
