hello,

my husband and i have been having unprotected sex for 9 months now and have not fallen pregnant

my question is, is there anything wrong with us?? and if there is what could be wrong?? does anyone have any suggestions as to what we can do to have a baby??

we do not have enough money to see special doctors for this, so anything that wont cost much will be greatly appreciated!!

thank u,

shannon

You haven't specified what you're doing apart from having unprotected sex. Sex alone only works when the timing is right. You have to have sex within your fertile window. There has to be an egg in place to fertilize. The egg has to then travel down your tube and successfully implant in your uterus before it's flushed away by your natural cycle.

Are you keeping track of your cycles? Do you know when your fertile window happens each month? This is the time when you need to concentrate on having sex. Simply understanding your cycle will greatly increase your chances of conceiving.

Okay is your cycle regular? If so, here is a simple way to figure out the best days of sex for baby making. Say the first day of your period starts on the 20th of December. Then the first day starts on the 20th of January. That would be a regular cycle. Count 14 days from the first day of your period. That would make it January 2nd. That would be your ideal ovulation date. But since ovulation is not just one day, typically 5 days is an ideal window, 2 days before ovulation because sperm can live in the uterus for about that long and two days after. So ramp up the sex from December 31-Jan 4. But that is the pretend cycle. If your cycle is not regular, you can always buy those ovulation prediction kits from your local drugstore. They are not cheap.
So figure out when the first day of your period starts, and if it is regular, just count 14 days from the date of your start date, and that would be most likely the date you ovulate. Just subtract two days from your ovulation date and add two days. There is your 5 day window.
Some women, like myself, know when we ovulate because of a little pain on either the left or right side of our lower abdomen, and increased discharge during that time. The pain is called mittleschmerz (sp?), a german loan word for ovulation pain. You may or may not have that pain.

there are instruments at the store you can buy which track your most fertile time and tell you when you are most likely to conceive...maybe you and your husband can look into buying one of those

Start writing down the date of the first day of your period. It will help you learn how long your cycles are, how regular/irregular you are, and might help you figure out your fertile window. There are free ovulation calculators available online, but you'll need to know when your cycle started and approximately how long it is.

hmmm..if your periods are irregular then it could be difficult..i dont know that the ovulation trackers will work on those with irregular periods..i have never used one but i'm assuming it asks when your last period was and bases when you'd be fertile off of that..there may be a few other instruments you could look into, not sure...typically a woman is most fertile 14 days after the start of her period..just tell your husband you need alot of love and stay active! haha surely something is bound to happen!
