Q: Pregnancy tests

i had my baby on january 26th 2008, i started takin the contraceptive pill (microgynon) and a few weeks back i was on antibiotics and forgot to use extra contraception on two to three occassions now i am five days late for my period my body is screaming pregnant but my test is saying im not. iv been feeling very tired, sick,gassy and uncomfortable. could i still be pregnant?

Early Pregnancy Signs and Symptoms Answer A4266

If your period is 5 days late the results from the test can be considered accurate because the test was taken on time. If your pregnancy test is negative you can’t be pregnant no matter what your body is “screaming” or what symptoms you have. You can do another pregnancy test to confirm or exclude pregnancy. If the test is negative again you are obviously not pregnant.

Lack of expected menstruation can be due to other reasons beside pregnancy. The same stands for the rest of the symptoms.
