Hi. I need some advice!

I think I may be pregnant but I have had negative tests. I did 2 hpts a week ago that were v. faint positives but have since wondered if they were evaporation lines?> I went to the doctors on the 17-5-10 and recieved a negative result. My period is 17 days late - all I had was very light spotting for less than 2 days. I have pelvic pain, nausea, diarreah, headaches, white creamy (almost like mucus) discharge and i had a small amount of sticky brown discharge a few days after the 'spotting'. I am very confused as although this would be my first pregnancy I 'feel' pregnant. My stomach feels bloated and I have stretching pains across my abdomen. The nurse at my local GP surgery was very quick to rush me out and didn't offer me a blood test. I feel too foolish to go back. She was very dismissive of me and because I am young (21) she didn't take into account that I am married and acted as though I shouldn't even be having sex. I was on the combined pill when I think i got pregnant, but have since stopped taking it for obvious reasons. I was not planning a pregnancy but am married and would be happy to start my family now if that's what meant to be.

Just to complicate matters, 3 months ago I had some light spotting about 2 weeks before my period (this had never happened). Over the last three months my periods have been very unusual and I've had PMS symptoms constantly. I was diagnosed with PID and treated accordingly, although no infection was found.-I have never had an STD and I think they couldn't think of anything else. I feel as though I am being fobbed off and no-one is taking me seriously. I feel that either I could be 3 months pregnant (may explain symptoms and as I was on pill the 'periods' may have been withdrawal bleeds.)or I have recently become pregnant. Either way I need to know! The issue is I have no detectable HCG other than my potential faint positives.I am not medically minded so need advice! Please help! Can I ask for a scan? A friend of mine only found out she was pregnant 6 months after she concieved as she had little weight gain and continued periods. She also was on the pill but had no idea until she went to the doctors with tummy ache! I have given up smoking and started taking pre-natal vitamins because if I am pregnant I want to give my child the best start.

No detectable HCG , but possibly pregnant?? 0_0
I definately understand where you are coming from. I have researched this online for the last couple of weeks and it is not as uncommon as everyone is saying. I myself have missed my last 2 periods, and am having all the pregnancy symptoms except Morning sickness. However, blood & urine tests are coming back negative. Some friends of mine are syaing they didnt test positive until 8 or even 10 weeks. I myslef plan to schedule a transvaginal ultrasound just to make absolutely sure I am not pregnant.

Re: No detectable HCG , but possibly pregnant??
I'm not sure if this is helpful, I'm 16.5 weeks pregnant, but my pregnancy test came up positive at 5 weeks. However, my sister and sister-in-law both did not show up positive until they were 3 - 3.5 months pregnant! Every urine test they took came up negative until this time. My sister's blood test even came up negative. I really think you just have to wait it out.
In the mean time, treat yourself as if you are pregnant!

Don't worry. Seeing as the date you posted this.... request a blood test from your doctor and keep taking the pee tests. Two a week.

Good luck! And tell us how everything is!

I took 4 pregnancy tests after a late period. 1 positive(clearly), 2 negative, and another clear positive. Not even two wks after that period, I was bleeding again, it was kinda like a period, but lighter and lasted just as long... weird, Plus I was getting symptoms like, fatigue, bad back pains, nausia, my breasts were super sore, and I had visible blue viens in my breasts. After the 2nd bleeding was finished, I went to the doctor(who forgot about my appt and wasnt there) so the nurse had me take a hpt of hers, and it came up negative. by looking at my urine, she told me I was ovulating, and the 2nd bleeding was ovulation bleeding. and that my body was trying to have a period,(after having 2periods in one month?really?)and thats why i was getting those symptoms. she also said that the only reason I got two positives was because I took the tests when my hormone level was really high. oh and get this, she said that it is way more common to get false positives than false negatives. I have had an irregular period since, but Im still treating myself as if I am pregnant, just in case. Have any of you guys heard of the stuff that the "so called" Nurse told me? I think she was just trying to get me outa there since I was planning to give birth in a different hospital, if i was preggers. Please, anyone, help.

To the TTC, Hopeful and Unsure about Positive Pregnancy Tests
I have had 5 pregnancies, and 5 live births (they are now 16, 13, 7, 5 and 2). I have just pulled out my medical history cards for each of my children be aide I believe I am pregnant for the 6th time. The first positive urine or blood test I had for each of my babies was at gestational age: 16+ weeks (4 months); 14 weeks (3.5 months); 13 weeks (3 months); 11+ weeks (nearly 3 months); and 12+ weeks (3 months) respectively and as stated on my health cards. It is very difficult now because I believe I am pregnant (symptoms) but cannot confirm until I am at least 3 months along. In every pregnancy I had ultrasounds (including 2 of them transvaginal) and none of them showed a sac (or a "black spot") until at least 3 months along...perhaps this has something to do with the position of my cervix/uterus and lack of ability/careful consideration by the ultrasound tech. Anyway, I have just had another ultrasound at my estimated 5 weeks gestation which was negative of course (except for the thickened endo), every day I test urine, and every week I test bloods, but I'm pregnant, I just know. GPs are often (mostly in my case) wrong. The last one I saw (because my favorite ob retired) is sure I am suffering from appendicitis...that was 2 weeks ago and after receiving the TV ultrasound results - wrong!! Anyway, I will have my ultrasound at 11 weeks (so a very painful number of weeks to wait), and I say to you girls that you know your body, of you think you are pregnant then you absolutely need to believe this, feel special, eat well, do everything that a pregnant lady does (take that extra space on the bus if you want to) tell your partner about it, take folic acid daily (very important), take a HPT each day (if you can afford it), and just let it happen if it was supposed to be. The worst case scenario is that it was God's will that it didn't happen (for a very good reason which I'm sure you will ask as a matter of priority when you get to heavens gate). The point of my post (this is the first time I have EVER posted) is that all of the time spent looking at posts (which I have been doing too unfortunately) is a waste of time. I was hoping to learn about early pregnancy symptoms, because this is the first of my total 6 pregnancies that I have ever had any symptoms prior to 3 months gestation. In my last 5 pregnancies for example, I didn't have any nausea or vomiting until at least 11 weeks along - this time it started at 4.5 weeks. Good luck ladies, would live to talk to you (scan you copies of my medical records which show ultrasounds at 10 weeks along - and corresponding urine & blood tests - all negative - followed by healthy, still healthy (2 are teenagers now) pregnancies...looking through the posts for weeks now, I have found the replies very unfortunante for those believing they are pregnant without positive tests, based on personal experience of others, but with certain conviction and lacking corresponding evidence. Doctors as we know are often wrong, personal experience stories are just that - "personal" - your story and symptoms are unique, so document them for yourself, and wait for your personal result - positive or negative. Okay, I don't want to seem like a hypocrit here by posting my own personal results - I have only done this so that YOU KNOW not to count yourself out until you ate AT LEAST 3 months along. My saying..."in God's hands". Baby dust to you all on the Internet (and the hundred of posts from the hundreds of TTC's and hopefuls that I have read page by page).xx

I'm frustrated too. We've only been trying for 3 months, but I am a little impatient. I came off the pill 3 months ago, first 2 months fairly regular 32 day and 35 day cycle, then this month I had pink spotting 15 days before AF was due, I thought yay ovulation, checked for CM and bingo EWCM all the way, then I had 1 day of bleeding 10 days before AF is due, I stupidly thought yay implantation bleeding as we had been having regular sex all month. Then the day AF is due comes and nothing, 17 days later and still nothing but all my tests are negative. I am so confused, I am booked into the doctor tomorrow but I have a feeling he will just say 'oh it's your hormones regulating' I just don't see how I can have 2 months of normal periods then this??? I've not been stressing or anything which could stop my period and I'm pretty sure I ovulated but no period and no pregnancy, so confused! I find it so frustrating as my fella now says (which I know is joking) how can we have a baby when you're broken. We both want a baby and I just don't understand why my body has gone mental on me. None of our friends know we are trying as we didn't want any extra pressure so I have nobody to talk to about it. All thoughts very every welcome.
