Q: pregnancy symptom ? increased sense of smell

My last period was October 11th, which was a week late as to the 28 day cycle that I usually have. This month I have not yet had my period which means I am a week late, again. However, for the past two weeks I have had cramping off and on as if I am about to start my period.

Lately, I have been experiencing an increased sensitivity to smells. One example would be while at school, in the restroom, I smelt blood so strongly to the point that it was nauseating. Then a couple seconds later I hear rattling as if opening a pad or tampon. Usually, I don't smell these kind of things. Also, when in the cafeteria, the smell of the chicken sandwiches make me nausea to the point where I couldn't eat lunch. I've also experienced a bad smell that no one else can smell?

My breasts are tender as well, which they usually aren't before I start my period, but last month before my period, they were.

Also, I get nausea off and on throughout the day randomly for something as small as, for example, a girl sitting infront of me in class has long hair and her long hair kept laying on my book and it made me feel very, very sick.

I'm very confused. Is it just my hormones changing making my period later every week? or something else?

You really should take a test; a hightened sense of smell is most definitely a symptom of early pregnancy. I suffered it myself and it contributes to the nausea.

Seriously, test.

Well,
I took a dollar pregnancy test this afternoon and it came out negative. Yes, I know I need to take a better one and yes, I know it should be in the morning. My mother thinks it is probably just hormones doing all of this to me, but who knows until I test. How long should I wait until after my expected period to test?

The tests from the dollar store work just as well as the pricier ones. You should wait a few days and then test with your first morning urine.

I had went and gotten two of the dollar test and i took one and it came back negative. then i waited for a coule of days and took my other one and it came back positive and i did it with my first morning pee. so i would wait a couple more days and then take the other one with the first morning pee. And the stomach cramping I know all about that lol. I had it really bad i thought I was going to start my period and even after the test came out positie it still felt like I was ging to start so yeah. but I am now just getting the highten since of smell.
