i has intercourse with my boyfriend immediately after my periods last month, and we had precautions (he used condom). now it has been more than 40 days since i had my periods.(the 28 days period cycle). I am worried. i don't want to get pregnant. is there chances of getting pregnant? if so how to avoid the total pregnancy without abortion? and i also heard the one week after the period are safe days and chances of getting pregnant in those days are very little, is that so?

According to the data you provided (using condom), the chances for you being pregnant are minimal. There is a slight possibility that the fluids before the ejaculation have somehow reached the uterus, since those fluids can still contain a very little quantity of spermatozoids.

The morning after pill is a pill that is used after intercourse and alters the menstrual cycle, thus not letting fertilizing and/or implantation in the uterus to occur. Once fertilization and implantation occurs, abortion is the only way. Dilation and curettage, in this case, is also considered as an abortion.

The ovulation occurs exactly fourteen days before the start of the next period, which can be only assumed and not calculated for sure when having intercourse, at least until the next period actually starts. So, one week after the end of the period might include the ovulation day if the menstrual cycle is short enough, and using other more secure ways of avoiding pregnancy is recommended.
