So I have a question. I am currently having stomach problems. I feel bloated and get a mild crampy feeling and feeling nausesous throughout the day and its sometimes caused certain smells. My boobs have been sore and heavy and i get headaches and sleep alot more then usual but have a hard time sleeping bc i wake up alot during the night. Its too early to tell if im pregnant because my period doesnt come for another week and a half. But I was off my bc for a little over a month and had unprotected sex with my boyfriend during that time(he pulled out, which i know isnt the a good method to avoid pregnancy) I am back on my bc control now and I am wondering if it could be causing these symptoms or if theres a possibility that i am pregnant. Or is there something else going on? Please help. Because I dont know what else to do and its been going on for about two weeks now.
Thank you.

Am I Pregnant Answer A14457
Hi,
Welcome to the forum. I am really glad to help you out. The possibility of pregnancy needs to be ruled out in view of the symptoms you have mentioned. The possibility becomes more likely as you have had unprotected sexual intercourse and you have not been taking the birth control pills.

The urine pregnancy test is usually done around 1 week after the missed periods. I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests. Moreover, it gets elevated in blood much early (around 10 days after the implantation of the zygote, formed by the union of an egg and a sperm). The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy.

An ultrasound of the uterus can also be done to look for the gestation sac. Please do consult a gynecologist for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
