Confused MY HUSBAND IS GOING TO GET HIS vasectomy REVERSED. HE HAD IT DONE OVER 14 YEARS AGO AND HE SAYS HE HAD IT BURNED, CLIPPED AND A GOOD PORTION OF HIS VAS DEFERAN REMOVED. I'M 32 YEARS OLD AND THE DR SAYS I'M FINE FERTILTY WISE ACCORDING TO MY ULTRASOUND, SONOGRAMS AND BLLOD WORK. I DO HAVE CONDITIONS LIKE ENDOMETRIOSIS, ADENMYOSIS, RECURRING CYST,AND A TILTED UTERUS WHICH IS DUE TO THE BIRTH OF MY ONLY CHILD. I GET CHECKED UP OCCASIONALLY THROUGH THE YEARS AND HAVE GOTTEN 3 LAPORASCOPIES TO TREAT SOME OF MY CONDITIONS, CYST, ADHESIONS, ETC. DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE MORE CHILD. I'M SCARED THAT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE ANY CHILDREN WITH MY HSUBAND AND IT MAKES ME VERY SAD. ARE OUR CHANCES OF THE REVERSAL VERY SLIM? WE WERE TOLD WE BY A FERTILITY SPECIALIST WHO DID MY BLOOD WORK AND SONOGRAM THAT WE HAD ABOUT A 40% CHANCE. DO YOU AGREE? HE HAS YET TO BE CHECKED IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
You can give it a try with the reversal of vasectomy. However, after a month of the procedure, the semen analysis should be done to see if he has any abnormal sperm morphology or abnormal motility. Women are known to get pregnant even with endometriosis. You can also consider taking the regression therapy for treatment of the endometriosis and adenomyosis which would increase your chances of pregnancy after completion of the treatment course (chances of pregnancy increase to upto 60% after therapy). Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further clarification and assistance. You can also consider taking second opinion from an Infertility specialist.
Take care.

My husband had a vasectomy 5 years ago and is now booked in for a reversal in November. We were told he had a 90% chance of the return of sperm but only a 50% chance of us conceiving with his sperm after a vasectomy of 5 years. I have a 4 year old son and my husband has 4 children from previous relationship so our fertility isnt in question yet i dont feel our odds are so good and they do decrease Every year after so I'm unsure what your would b at 14 years. Hope this hasn't upset you but just what my specialist told us. I wish u all the luck in the world. It is horrible wanting a baby and struggling to make it happen. I have also done 2 cycles of Ivf which is a good option for some ppl but did not work for me though but does work for many others and that way they can do a PESA and still use you husbands sperm. GOOD LUCK
