Miscarriage and Stillbirth Answer A5310
Current medical status: I've made a doctor's appointment but can't be seen until 1/8/09 due to the holidays. I missed my period which was due for 12/15/08. On 12/24/08 I took a home preganancy test, which came out positive. Before then, until now, I have been cramping in the lower part of my stomach, lower part of back, sometimes mild, sometimes sharp cramps. I have also been spot bleeding, nothing on my pad but when I wipe blood missed with brown somedays. A couple days, there were dark blood spots on my panty liner. I am still spot bleeding and everytime I use the restroom and wipe, there is blood. By my last period, I caculate to be 5 weeks, 6 days pregnant.
Current medical treatment: none

A positive pregnancy test says that you could be pregnant. Vaginal bleeding indicates that that pregnancy could be compromised with a threatening miscarriage. You can request an ultrasound scan and β-HCG daily monitoring. If β-HCG level is decreasing you probably had a miscarriage.
