My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I am a gymnastics teacher. What activities are still going to be safe to participate in once I find out I'm pregnant?

Pregnancy and teaching gymnatics
I was a gymnastics coach when I found out I was pregnant. At the time I was teaching tumbling. Most of the students were inexperienced and required a lot of spotting. I chose to stop coaching because it was only part-time and not worth the risk to my baby. (My doctor told me I should quit and said not to lift over 20-40 lbs.)

I used to coach competitive gymnastics and I would have felt pretty comfortable to continue coaching the competitive girls. (Most of them are in shape and require minimum spotting/ I never got "kicked" etc.)

I would definitely check with a doctor. I would also say it would depend on how much you are spotting the girs/ or moving equipment.

Good luck! Smile
