Q: Pregnancy and Plan B - 7 weeks no period

I had my period from February 9-12, which is extremely short for my cycle. It usually lasts anywhere from 7 to 10 days and is very heavy. It was only four days (which has only happened once before – when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter) and pretty light for what I normally have.

I had to take Plan B once in January and that is what I blame the short, light period on. After the February period, I ended up having to take the morning after pill again. I am not sure of the exact dates, but I do know it was during the weekend or first part of the week (February 14-18 ) after the February period. I did not take it within 24 hours after intercourse, but I did take it within the suggested 72 hour timeframe.

I have had all the PMS signs and symptoms (i.e. bloating, fatigue, irritability, etc.) of starting a period, but no period. I haven’t even spotted nor had anything that remotely resembles blood. I have had PMS symptoms for a week or so in February (which is normal) but no period (which is not normal). I also had a week in March where I had the same (symptoms but no period).

I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and all have come out as negative. I spoke with my doctor and was told that the morning after pill could mess up my cycle for a couple of months (which it has just about been), to wait another week and if nothing, take another test.

I am going on the seventh week (which is almost two months) without a period here and am starting to get very nervous. I know stressing about it can make you late or even miss, but I haven’t been that worried about it until this last week or so.

Should I take another test, talk to another doctor, or continue to wait? And, how long should I wait? What should I do? How successful is the Plan B morning after pill?
