Q: Pregnancy After Tubal Reversal

Hi everybody I am new here and was wondering if anyone knew where I might find information about pregnancy rates after a tubal reversal?

I had my tubes untied in 2002 and was able to get pregnant 1 time soon after although it ended in a miscarriage and soon after my husband and I got a divorce.

I saw a doctor about 2 years ago that stated since I was reaching 40 and it had been 4 years since the surgery the chances of my getting pregnant now were very slim. I have since met a really nice guy and neither of us really wants anymore kids and are using protection but I would really like to know the chances. He is considering a vasectomy and I'm good with that but until then what?

Women under the age of 40 who have a tubal reversal through the traditional surgical methods have a 70% to 80% pregnancy success rate, with conception usually occurring during the first year after the procedure. Women who have microsurgery done have a slightly higher success rate, with about 90% of women becoming pregnant within one year of the procedure.
Woman after 40, but before menopause, has 10-20 % chances to get pregnant for one year trying. With tubal reversal the chances would be 7-18% for one year. Every next year chances will getting lower and lower.
Until menopause you can use condoms, birth control pills or IUD.
