Q: Pregnancy after Medical Abortion

I went to the doctor for my three week check up and was told that the test still came back positive. I know from doing research there is a good chance it is only hormones still in my body, yet my mind is still racing. The doctor told me that if I had sex since the abortion it could be a new pregnancy. If it is a new pregnancy would it be safe to keep it at this point or would it be necessary to abort it? Are there tests to do to find out if the baby is healthy? Any information would be appreciated. I am going back on Monday for another test, but still my mind is racing.

I have had a medical abortion as well, though the chances of still being pregnant are slim. I did have a friend of my who had the abortion and the baby aborted but the sac was still in place so she kept producing the pregnany hormone. You should definetly get an ultrasound done. As far as a new pegnancy after 3 weeks of abortion... I just don't know. I wish you luck and sure hope things turn out they way you want them to.
