hi i have been on the depo injection for 10 years.I fell i have had no problem with the injection at all..But i have decided i would like to try for a baby.I know i have been on it for a long time, but when i have forgotten to get the depo my periods come back as normal the flowing moth.Do you think i should go for a check up after coming of the depo, and how long for it to leave my body, and how long before i would get pregnant.Plus i have never been for a smear in my life.... many thanks corinne

i read somewhere that it takes 6-12 months, and read another place that it takes 18 months.
my girlfriend got pregnant months after coming off of it, but she was on it for only a year.
you should always get a pap smear once a year.
why?
i found out twice when i was a teen, that i had cancerous cells in my cervix they had to burn away.
through a check up i found out i had high blood, and high cholesterol which are silent killers.
you could be the luck one's but i want you to be safe.
