Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The emergency contraceptive pills give you protection for next 12 hours (after you take the last pill). If you have been sexually active after this time, you can be at risk for pregnancy. The bleeding that you experienced after few days of taking the ECP could have been the withdrawal bleeding. If you had been sexually active after your withdrawal bleeding, chances of pregnancy are a possibility if ovulation occurs around the time of your sexual contact. The lighter periods/spotting that you describe could be suggestive of implantation bleeding or decidual bleeding (if you are pregnant). If you miss your periods, or if you have abnormal periods, or if you develop any new symptoms suggestive of pregnancy, or if periods have not started within 10 days of expected period dates, consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
