I have a lot of uterine fibroids. I am looking at a hysterectomy. I bought 11 more years having a myomectomy. The fibroids are back. I am trying to decide if I need a 2nd opinion. The doctor says I can wait for menopause. I am 53 and menopause is not here yet. I am getting more and more uncomfortable. I do not bleed all of the time but have lots of fibroids in and out of the uterus. One 8.2. X 6.9 X 8.1. MY low back and low abdomen hurts. Any I being a baby. I know I am the one who has to decide when do we know it is time to have this done? Should I wait and see if they shrink or until I bleed a lot?

Hi lovelyladylumps and welcome to ehealth: I had a full Hysterectomy at age 48 and have never looked back...I used to bleed like mad and was filled with Endometriosis (fibroids)...IMO, no you are not being a baby....Chances are they will not shrink...Take care...
