All children are different. And mostly girls are toilet trained earlier. In my opinion.
But what I used to do with all my kids, was spend 1 full week at home. I would do it late srping/ summer. I used to take off all nappies and put on undies. I made a BIG deal out of it. I made up a nappy fairy. The night before I would tell the child, your such a big boy now, the nappy fairy is coming tonight and is taking all your nappies away. They will leave you a gift for being a big boy now. so while sleeping I would take the nappies, and put undies and a toy where they were. The next week, i would keep telling them they were big boy now, and big boy uses toilets. Praise when they even sit on the toilet or potty. And a phone call to nanny/ poppy/ daddy when they actually DO something in the toilet.
When they pee'd on the floor, I would get them to help me clean up, no scolding, just, "oh dear, you didnt go to the toilet, oh well, help mummy clean up and next time you want to go, run to the toilet.
I found by day 4-5 they were great. Anyway, thats my toilet training stories.........oh.......my some was day 7, I was about to give up, then finally on day 7 last chance....he stopped peeing on the floor or when he slept.

Most children start potty training around the age of 2 years, some children later. There is courses that the Age and Disabilty Health run called "Potty Training". I took my daughter to one, as she has a disability and so does her son. I tell you it is helpful.....you need to be ready to toilet train your child, as well as the child needs to be ready, otherwise you are going to have problems and it will take forever, we found that out.lol.
Anyway, check with them or the Health Centres as they run alot of different classes to help parents be parents.

My son showed intrest in potty training at 15 months. Each child is diff. & they will let you know when they are ready. I kept my son naked at home during the time he became interested & by the time he was 18 months he could pee all by himself. At 2 he finally decided to poop on the potty & became completely potty trained. When i was a child I was the late bloomer... almost age 4 by the time i was fully ready & completly potty trained.
