POST treatment
Chinna,
Thats normal. Thats the effect of the drugs u had taken. I suggest, like I did 10 yrs ago after my medication, to focus your self on exercise.Maybe start walking for 30 mins a day and increasing on the next days. Before I used to hike up to mountain top just to take fresh air. It help your mind separate from bad feelings and worries. Actually when I had that disorder I focused my self on other things such us reading and answering review materials. And before I finished my medication I passed my CARRIER CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION.
Good luck and hooked up your self to sports and gym it will made the difference

POST treatment
Thank you so much Hanhan. My flu like symptoms went away in couple of weeks. But recently I am noticing that my breathlessness is increasing again. It is only 1.5 months that I stopped my medication. I am very scared that TB is not completely cured. I am very worried and can't stop thinking about it...

Thanks you your reply.

well chinna this is yasin from india, i had tb and i took the treatment for whole 9 months, still after the treatment ws over the docter said that the treatment is successful but i was still feeling breathless and fatigue, i made some consultations with a psychologist.

he told me that in those 9 months my brain was completely aware of the disease, so even after the treatment was done i still used to feel the similar problems....
this time it was not the lungs which was troubling me but it was my brain which was showing me bad pictures...

so just try to forget all the medication, try to spend your time in fresh air, keep your self busy, go out with your friends and family.

that would make you alright, i believe.

for all TB patients
I had TB when i was 18 years old. I took 9 months treatment. After completion of treatment the disease relapsed, more severely this time. I consulted doctor,he adviced medication 3 more months. I took medication 3 more months (all together 1 year).I improved. After completion of the course, my symptoms reappeared and slowly became worst.
This time i took the advice of elders. They told me to take good food and to be mentally strong. 3 years hence i suffered severe fever, cough, fatigue, weight loss but never went to doctor.I took good food, excercise and recovered perfectly. At age 22 iam strong, young, dynamic, handsome man.Now iam 29 strong and healthy.
Trust me, doctors can be of little help. The biggest help comes from yourself. HAVE STRONG WILL

pleural TB
Hi, vbthebest,
I read your post and I have to tell you that I had the exact same kind of TB. I was diagnosed with TB after they took some of the fluid with a needle from my pleural.

Took the treatment for 6 months and since then 1,5 years have gone by and every time I get a fever or fatigue I always think that TB has come back....I know that the feelings are really annoying but try to not think about it, think positive and focus on good things that are happening in your life...

Take care, friend from Macedonia

nurse issue
I have a minimal pulmonary tuberculosis.i got this when i am still reviewing for my board exam.i have a fever then i cough and sneeze.now i passed the board exam but i have this fear that i won't get a job due to my condition.i want also to go abroad but i am afraid that i would fail in physical exam due to my scar in my lungs.
I already completed my medication for 6 months.
May questions are?
Is this the end of my career and my dreams?
Is there any chance that i could still work abroad?
Is it true that if apply to different hospital they won't accept me due to my scars in the lungs?

TB survival-mentally and physically!
Hi there,
my 2 yr old son contracted TB from a childcare worker in his creche. By the time he was diagnosed, significant damage was done to his lungs. He has undergone general surgical interventions, full TB medications including extended medications of 3 different types, long term preventative antibiotics, and now suffers from airborne allergies as a result of a weakness in his chest. I showed TB exposure when I was pregnant with my second baby at the same time as my sons diagnosis and had to go on TB medication for the duration of my pregnancy. Our whole lives were drastically changed in one minute.

I found that a trampoline has made a huge difference to my sons health as all that jumping has helped him breathe deeply and I feel the vibration in his body through jumping has helped shake out alot of the residue which had built up in his lung

I tried alot of complementary medicines which had some benefit (drops and tablets for lung disease and chest infections).

Currently my son Michael is on transfer factor plus which they say is scientifically proven to boost his immune system by 437%. Although it is early stages yet, I have taken him off his antibiotics as these tablets increase his killer T cells (the cells that build up to fight infection). So far they are working and he is drug free and symptom free for the first time in 2 and a half years. The reason I tried these is because the testemonials from doctors and users including those with respiratory disease seemed to show huge benefits. Unfortunately I didnt know about them when I finished my TB meds one month after my baby was born as I was physically at an all time low and caught other infections! I am now taking these tablets more for prevention as I feel well thank God.

now i know how paranoid i was, and it's normal cause most of you experienced that as well, thinking of a simple symptom as a recurrence of tb. thanks to ur stories guys, i learned a lot.

hi, i'm from the philippines. I also had minimal ptb, I was diagnosed last april 2009.started meds april 11. I just had my 6 month treatment completed, just came from my checkup and the doctor says I can now discontinue meds. I took meds for 24 weeks and 5 days. I'm also a registered nurse, passed last year's nov. board exams. and as far as i'm concerned I'm not compromising my health anymore by going back to nursing as a career. On my 2nd month of treatment I experienced a side effect from the drugs which made me feel that something was lodged in my throat. I couldn't eat well and always vomited. I lost 8 kilos in just 2 weeks and developed anxiety. I even had esophagoscopy and laryngoscopy done(inserting a camera into the throat and the tube leading to the lungs)just to make sure. Thank God it was negative. It only stopped when I was prescribed Vit. b6 supplements (so ask your doctor if you're experiencing the same problem).right now i have colds on which the mucus (produced form the nose, not from the lungs) goes back into the throat instead of coming out of the nose(aka post nasal drip). I hate it, I'm always spitting and clearing my throat.the doctor prescribed strong antibiotics and medicine for the colds. I hope these will do the job. our family Doc says side effects differ from person to person and that I'll return to normal health in due time. I really hope so. I was also advised to eat lots of nutritious foods, take vitamins regularly, exercise regularly, and avoid lack of sleep(less than 8 hours) or sleeping late so that my immune system will be strong and avoid reactivation of tb. just to make sure I'm also going to avoid going near to people who are coughing and sneezing because tb bacteria can stay airborne for several hours. avoiding poor ventilated places also helps. Right now i'm relieved that i'm finished with my treatment for tb. I also believe praying to God really helped me, I started reading the bible particularly the new testament since I had the anxiety problem. I felt I had to read it. and true enough it made me feel less anxious. especially the verse from the book of Philippians chapter 4 verse 6. It says " Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer, petition, and thanksgiving present your requests to God". this verse was my motivation. I've read The books Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It helped me a lot. lots of stories there on how to ask God for help. I advise all to read it, you'll have nothing to lose anyway, and maybe more to gain. At least for me that's how I feel
