Q: post-surgical appendix discomfort

Can post surgical issues from an appendectomy occur a decade after the surgery? I had my appendix out when I was 16. I'm 27 now and for the past few month had weird feelings in that area. At first, it was almost like a rubbing sensation inside. Then that sensation would go away and I'd just have a dull discomfort originating from my once-appendix area. Xray and ultrasound tests came back negative and I've been trying to get to a surgeon to see if it's a scar tissue issue. But can that really be the issue if the surgery was over ten years ago?! I'm posting this because maybe someone had a similar experience and can shed some light.

An incision in the abdominal wall due to any prior abdominal operation, including appendectomy, will always be an area of potential weakness for developing hernia or incisional hernia.
A bulge may not be visible at first and pain, sharp or a dull pain and discomfort, may be early warning signs.

Best wishes!
