Postpartum and Postnatal Answer A24327
Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you. Potpartum blues is seen in almost 80% of the females post delivery. However, post partum depression is a little less common.

Anyhow, you can still fight over it. You’ll need some psychological support from your family and possibly through the help of a counselor.

It makes sense to consult a psychiatrist as you’ll likely need some anti-depressants like sertraline or fluoxetine to fight this illness. As you are breastfeeding, medicines you take can be passed to your baby.

Some antidepressants can be used safely with little risk to your baby. For the same, kindly consult a psychiatrist I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
