I had 2 hernias repaired last tuesday. The doctor initially was doing laparoscopy looking for endometriosis, but my doctor only found 2 hernias and called a surgeon in to repair them. I don't know what kind of hernias they were, nor did I get alot of instructions from my doctor. I have a follow up appt with him tomorrow. I'm just wondering from people's experiences...should i still be in pretty bad pain? I ran out of my 7.5 lortabs last night and today has been horrible. I have toradol to take but it doesn't help much. I have gone through 40 of these lortabs already. Is that odd? I feel like it's alot but I have been in significant pain. I don't want to get treated like a druggy tomorrow if I ask for a re-fill. Also, when did you all go back to work? I tried yesterday and I didn't do great. It's a family owned business, so it's not a huge deal as to when i go back. Thanks for any advice! I'm starting to feel a little hopeless.

Unfortunately, without knowing exactly what type of surgery you had, it is almost impossible for me to say whether your pain level is appropriate or not (also, sensitivity to pain after surgery varies considerably from one person to another).

You should certainly see the surgeon who repaired your hernias, and ask him/her what procedures were performed, and whether or not your recovery, to date, is progressing normally.
