Had the procedure about 6 weeks ago and now find that I have great difficulty with controlling my bladder. The DR said it is a result of the bladder muscles and sphincter becoming weak during the period I had a partially blocked urethra. Now the urethra is clear the muscles need to strenthen by specific excercised I and doing but without any signs of improvement. Is anyone else having the same issues or am I the only lucky one!!!!!!
Thanks George B

Bladder control
George - I had my gyrus TURP on 11/11/09, and have had that urgency problem. I am drinking plenty of water as directed and have to run to the bathroom every hour, sometimes even more often. I haven't lost complete control but have had a few drops of urine start traveling down the ureter. I don't see my doctor for another 2 weeks so I haven't been told to do any exercises. I still have blood in my urine, probably from not taking it easy enough immediately after the operation, which I am now doing. Hang in there, George. - Patrick
