Q: Possible Thrombosed Hemorrhoid

I am a 25 year old male, heterosexual, in good shape (6'1" 190lb). I have had issues almost my entire life of maintaining regular bowel movements.

A couple of days ago i noticed discomfort sitting on my couch and jumped in the shower to thoroughly clean the area and i noticed a lump near my anus. I had a hemorrhoid once before, probably 8 years ago and it went away on its own over time. Over the last couple of days any pain has subsided. Today i inspected again to feel for any changes, and decided to scope it out in the mirror. The bump is purple, and feels like a marble under the skin. it has not fully dropped ala the pendulum reference in another post. The disturbing part of this is that the area of the buttox directly next to the bump is also quite purple and looks like a bruise the size of a silver dollar. It also does not hurt or give any pain symptoms.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The locality and symptoms does sound like a hemorrhoid but if you are not too sure, it would be best to check with a doctor. Your problems with your bowel movement is one of the main causes of hemorrhoids so my best advice is to focus on your colon health or this condition will continually repeat itself.
