in January I started seeing a guy who had severe stomach problems and he was finally diagnosed with something and put on antibiotics. at the time he told me what it was called and even said it was transferable by saliva and that I should get tested. i didn't but now for the past few months I've been having stomach problems. at first I thought it was all birth control related, since it started after I had a depo provera injection. now I'm on levora and all the other side effects I had are gone but this stomach stuff has been getting worse. it all started out with my being ravenously hungry 24-7. then came severe pain after eating. now though, its worse. I'll get hungry, eat, have even worse pain than before and get all queasy. other times even just thinking about eating or looking at food will make my tummy roll. past few days I've only been able to eat once a day when I'm extremely hungry and after just a few bites I get that sick feeling. for about the past week I've had uncontrollable 24-7 heartburn, sometimes mild, sometimes really really bad and antacids aren't working and it won't stop. I have a bit of a gas problem now and I also had diarrhea for about two weeks but that went away and usually things go pretty normal but sometimes I get constipated. I've also had more bloating than i should though i suppose that could be the new birth control I'm on but I don't know.

anyways, me and the guy are just friends now and last night i asked him about it, what it was called etc. and his response was pretty much "I don't remember what its called. why would you think you have it?" I told him how I've been feeling and reminded him that back when he was diagnosed he told me it was contagious but now hes saying his doctor didn't say it was, his ex did and he doesn't think shes right and he doesn't think girls can get it and he doesn't believe its the same thing since I don't vomit like he did. he told me to eat right but heres the thing, when I started levora they said I was borderline high blood pressure and that I needed to change that. ever since I've really been watching what I eat(when I'm able to eat) and I've completely cut caffeine out of my life. I drink water or fruit juice and I can honestly say I've never had a more healthy diet in all my life. can anyone tell me what this could possibly be? I'd like to go to a doctor knowing what I should be tested for instead of waiting years like my ex did before he was diagnosed.

Your ex was most likely diagnosed with Helicobacter pylori infection of his stomach.
Actually, this bacterium is one of the most common infection world wide affecting approximately 50 percent of the world's population.
Still, it is little known about its mode of transmission.
Oral to oral route for transmission or through kissing, is one of the possible ways to get infected, since the bacterium can be find in saliva.
Stomach pain at the contact with food or pain after finishing the meal is suggestive for gastritis (stomach wall inflammation) or stomach ulcer.
Both conditions can be caused by this bacteria.

See your physician!
