Q: Possible STD? pimple sores on penis

Here's my situation...

Less than two weeks ago I started having unprotected oral/vaginal/anal sex with my girlfriend (I know it was a bad move, please don't lecture me about that). We used a non-toxic flavored lube, which is something I've never used before.

Three days ago in the shower I noticed something on my penis that looked like a pimple. It didn't hurt or itch or anything so I though I would wait a couple days and see what happened. The next time I looked at it, I could tell it was actually a sore. Since then I have developed 6 more. They are very tiny (about the diameter of the ink refill in a standard Bic ballpoint pen). They are in no way painful, and have only itched once very briefly. They aren't blisters or anything like that, it's just a small round area where it looks as if the skin has been rubbed raw. They are all located underneath my penis (around the base of my penis between the shaft and scrotum) except one which just came up that is higher up on the shaft and on the top side.

I'm getting somewhat concerned because we haven't had sex the past couple days but I have still been getting more of these sores. Is it possible that I could have gotten an STD and for the symptoms to be evident this quickly? When I noticed the first sore it was a week and a day after the first time we had sex.

I would have gone to a doctor immediately, but I turned 18 not too long ago and went to the same pediatrician my entire life, who I can no longer go to. So I have no idea where I would go to get it checked out.

My last sexual relationship with another person ended 7 months ago and that relationship was over three years long. Is it possible that these sores are just from not being used to having sex again? Could it be some sort of reaction to the lube? Or is it definitely and STD?

I tired looking at pictures of STDs online but couldn't find anything that looked at all like what I have. If this would help, I would greatly appreciate if I could send pictures to someone to look at.

Any clues as to what it could be would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

need advice
Hi,

I have the same thing with mine.
Got the sores about 5 days after the sexual encounter (unprotected).

I have 5 sores already.

Have you had any success on treating yours? Can you give me details on how you went about it?

I've already taken antibiotics (Zithromax 500mg) for 3 days but they're still there.

Not painful, not itchy - they're just sores that worries me.

Pls email me at verryblue(at)gmail(dot)com.

Thanks.

I am not going to say that you have herpes, because sores can be caused by a number of problems. But just keep in mind that herpes doesn't have to hurt. Sometimes herpes is painless. Sometimes it's just a rash. Sometimes it looks like pimples, or ingrown hairs. Doctors usually say herpes is a painful blister but many many people do not get blisters. Some people do not have much pain or itch at all. And 1 in 4 people has genital herpes. The reason it doesn't seem like that many have it is because most people with herpes don't know they have it. Their symptoms are either so minor they don't even notice them (one spot that looks like an ingrown hair could actually be a herpes outbreak) or there are lots of people who never get symptoms at all. Also, someone can have herpes for years before having their first symptoms. You can also get herpes through oral sex from someone who has herpes type 1, which causes cold sores but an also cause genital symptoms.

If you have these sores you should go to a clinic or planned parenthood and have them check. But if you've already had them for a while, a swab could give you a false negative. If you're worried about herpes, you should have a blood test about 3 months after your first symptoms, as it can take that long to develop antibodies that can be detected in your blood test.

Otherwise, there are other STDs or health issues that could be causing these sores. Since they haven't gone away yet, I would say you should definitely get checked out. And if you have herpes, doctors are usually very non-chalant about it. They know it's no big deal, but sometimes they give patients the run-around and don't always get to the bottom of it, some even suggest you don't test for it. If it doesn't look like a blister, they might say you definitely don't have it. But most herpes obs are very minor, and most people don't get obvious obs, so blood testing is a smart way to find out for sure. If your doctor says you don't need the test, you should demand it. I believe Planned Parenthood can offer a blood test if you request it.

Thanks for the reply.
I already had the blood test done and will get the results fairly soon.
I get depressed thinking I have herpes (an STD!!) - i don't think this is life threatening though right?
I read some articles about it and it says i will have it forever (w/c is the part that depresses me).
my sores haven't really hurt at all and they also don't itch (w/c my doc says it should IF it is herpes) - but reading on the materials on the net - it says there are cases that it doens't hurt at all.
anyway, you mentioned it is "no big deal" - how can it be? It's herpes?!?
any advice?
