Q: Possible squamous or melanoma ?

A friend of mine had a small itchy, flaky spot last week. She said it soon started to "weep." Then within just a few days it turned really brown and is now about the size of a nickel. Almost perfectly round, almost looks like a bruise and is no longer weeping. But this all happened so fast! I've never heard of something happening so fast!

Does this sound like squamous or melanoma??

She has an appointment tomorrow to see a dermatologist.

A fast growing mole, that is itchy, bleeds or oozes is suggestive for melanoma.
How does the surface of the lesion feel like?
Is the color of the growth uneven?

Mole
Yes, it was itchy, flaky and oozed.
I didn't touch it, but it looked very smooth--like a bruise. The growth is not uneven--almost a perfect circle.
