Q: Possible sinusitis symptoms?

I am a 22-year-old female and have had allergies (allergic rhinitis) all my life. About 2 years ago I suddenly had an extremely dizzy spell one day, prior to which I had begun to notice that my ears felt blocked. My doctor said it may be due to sinusitis. Since then I have constantly suffered with symptoms such as blocked ears (which "pop" if I try to yawn or swallow but close almost immediately again), a feeling of something "heavy" over my eyes and a feeling of fuzziness or "brain fog" in my head, which makes me feel unbalanced and slow, and not entirely "there" all the time. The symptoms come and go but often seem to get worse in the evening, and taking a hot shower sometimes seems to relieve the symptoms a little. At times I will have no symptoms for days at a time and other days they don't go away at all. I recently had another sudden intense dizzy spell which lasted for a few seconds then eased, and recurred throughout the day but not as badly. I took some off-the-shelf sinus medication for a few days and the dizzy spells went away; I still suffer with my chronic symptoms though. Is this chronic sinusitis or something else? And what can I do about it?

I got chronic sinusitis from a respiratory virus. This same virus seems to have kicked off receding gums (periodontal disease) in my mouth, skin problems, fatigue, memory difficulties, and many others.

To tygercat:

I also have allergic rhinitis and it's awful. You probably feel worse when you are exposed to the allergens. If you get symptoms of like runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes it could be due to the allergy. You could also be having a sinus infection. The best thing would be to get in touch with an ENT doctor.
