I am a 21 year old felamle with a long history of a variety of non specific symptoms (weakness, fatigue, reactive hypoglycaemia, vision problems etc) no diagnosis as of yet but recently diagnosed with fibrous dysplaisa of the orbital bone.
Possible endocrine issue was suspected and was admitted for tests then things got worse-
-I suffered 'falls'- id feel distant, hard to concentrate/focus on where i was going, drousy, weird unexplainable feeling, then id be on the floor, unable to communicate, difficulty in breathing, body shaking.
-few days later had what i guess to be halucinations- weird smells (fire/burning type),and images (in colours).
- the day after i had a fall as above when going to the bathroom, i went to try and get someone but remember walking and then being on the bed with people around me, i felt like before but worse. Time went on was struggling more and more to breathe- like my lungs wernt working properly, couldnt swallow, shaking worse, then remember doctor coming over. Then i cant remember much, but apparently i was fitting for 30mins or so-had med to stop me. Then had a few smaller ones later. Then had another longish on about an hour i think my family were told, i had had the strongest meds and was still fitting, i stopped breathing, so tube put in, and something about my heart, anyway i was eventually stabilised and was in intensive care for a week.
-brain mri and ct-normal, eeg done when stabilised-normal
-ekg-heart slightly enlarged tachycardia
- was told that i have generalised tonic clonic seizures, what is this?
apparently i didnt bite my tongue or become incontinent- i thought this always happened if you had a seizure?
-one doctor said it was epilepsy as id had a few seizures, but the other said i didnt due to eeg so they need to look at the cause of them?
(i am now on keppra, and have had no other seizures since, infact i feel different in a positive way,eg the way i felt as above re 'falls' seems to have gone away).
please post back, im so confused- ive come out with more issues than i went in with!, thank you.
