Ok.. This is going to sound very odd, but it happened and I'm worried. I live in Michigan, an old house, and there is the random bat appearing now and then, usually just caught and thrown back outside. But tonight, about an hour ago.. I was sitting on my couch, watching tv.. then out of nowhere, a bat flew over me, something fell off of it (liquid of some sort, I'm pretty sure) and landed right in my left eye.. So now I'm worried. The bat was caught and thrown outside.. after reading that I should have sent it in to get it tested. (Don't have the money for that or for medical bills right now) I just need to know whether I need to worry about this. That was the ONLY thing I felt fall of the bat, so it wasn't a stream and I don't think it was anything solid, it was a SPECK of 'something' that landed directly IN my eye. I washed it out with water, but who knows how much that will help. I appreciate your help.. thank you.

It is also possible, but quite rare, that people may get rabies if infectious material from a rabid animal, such as saliva, gets directly into their eyes, nose, mouth, or a wound.

go to the er and make sure you are safe
