Hi There,
My son will be 19 in 3 weeks...he hasn't been feeling good for a couple of months. We thought he may have had a bad case of the flu... but after not getting better at all from amoxocillin, the dr sent him for blood tests and chest xrays..
He has lymph nodes swollen in his neck and collar bone area... He's lost 20 lbs in the last couple of months, and throws up everytime he gets out of bed, pretty much.. He can't eat and is so tired all the time..He has bad night sweats, and itchy skin.
They did a biopsy of one of the lymph nodes in his neck,as well as a ct scan, which came back showing lymph nodes all through him---neck, collarbone, armpits, chest and stomache.... he goes for a bone marrow extraction tomorrow...
I am scared to death, and am not getting much answers on weather lymphoma is curable, or does it depend on what type??
Does anybody out there have any answers for me on what to expect?? I just really need to know. I can't wait a second longer for the rest of the tests!!

Lymph nodes are found throughout the body...which is normal...

Has a diagnosis of lymphoma been given or are they other possibilities on the table?

Lymphomas are cancers of the lymphatic system and can be classified as Hodgkin's disease (HD) or Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL). The two forms of cancer are distinguished by specific cells in the lymphatic system called Reed-Sternberg cells.

Lymphoma if detected at the earlier stages, it can be cured almost. Some general treatments for Lymphoma are
. Chemotherapy
. Radiation therapy
. Stem cell transplantation
. Biological Therapies
. Surgery
