I have noticed 3 "lumpish" type substances
around my bikini area. At first, I
thought they were pimples but after closer
examination, I feel they could be ingrown
hairs as I have been shaving more
frequently in that area. I am not quite
sure what an ingrown hair would look like
but that is my guess. One of the lumps
is tender while the other ones are not.
I have tried cortizone cream to reduce
the size but am not sure if I am doing any
good. What does one do for ingrown
hairs, specifically in that sensitive
region? And if they are not ingrown
hairs, what are they? They
any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

They cud b in grown hairs or some sort of
infection.U shud c ur doc first I guess
instead of putting anything on the area
cos it might react badly.
I've read that to reduce the likelihood of
getting in-grown hairs, u shud firstly
gently exfoliate the area (smoother
surfaces for blade to go across) and u
shud always use a shaving oil or foam-u
can actually get special types to prevent
in grown hairs.
Remmeber,this is a senstive region so u
shud maybe get it looked at.

I wouldn't go to the doctor for an ingrown
hair. Usually when I get them I am able
to squeeze them out. It is sometimes
easier to do that after a shower because
the skin is softer. If it is closer to
the skin and you can actually see the
little hair, a lot of times you can get it
with tweezers. I would be embarrassed to
go to the doctor for an ingrown hair when
other sick people would better benefit
from that appointment time.

Actually bradley, you may want to consider
the doctor. There are times when genital
herpes can resemle ingrown hairs. Going
to the doctor, having it looked at, and
being tested cant hurt!
