I just had to kick out my roommates (husband and wife) the other day due to not paying bills and selling and using drugs from my home. I know that they use marijuana, cocaine nasally, and huff gas (ridiculous huh?)I suspect they may be using inter venous drugs and that one may have been prostituting. I was cleaning out the stuff in the batroom they use and cut myself with one of their razors (like the kind used to shave legs...) I am a scare baby and worried I might get aids. Now, I have no evidence that either of them has aids or anything, but they do live a destructive lifestyle. What should I do? How scared should I be? I washed the cut with soap, water and peroxide and let it bleed for a minute, then bandaided it and put neosporin.

Hep C can stay on the surface for a longer time than HIV. This is an unfortunate situation... I say while you are there testing for Hep C, you might as well get tested for HIV. It is recommended that you wait three months from the moment of said infection to the testing time. All the best Muthoni (Mson)

Mson is right, you cant get AIDS or HIV from a razor that has been sitting out, the virus cant tolerate air..BUT...Hep C is something to be concerned about and also there are other blood infections and tetanus that can come from rusty razor blades. It is unlikely, keep an eye on the cut and if you notice swelling,redness or it becomes very tender and painful then go to the doc and have them check it out. Good Luck. P.S. huffing gas? That is so dumb be glad they are out of your house and out of your life.
