Q: Possible gallbladder issues
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 1st, 2009
I'm slim male fit active, good diet 4 years ago treated for a stomach ulcer, it wasn't great but within a few days I was ok. Then last year I had the worst pain I have ever experinced in my life.I lost 1/2 stone in 3 days as I couldn't eat due to the severe pains in my chest. To cut a long story, short rushed to hopsital twice treated as heart attack then told it wasn't heart .I told them about prior ulcer, they did tests on gall bladder, pancreas - nothing found. So they put me on 80mg Omeprazole x 10 Eventually improved and then 4 months later it came back only worse. with some horrid between shoulder pain too. I could not move in bed at night as the deep pains in the centre of my chest were horrific I also had water brush with my mouth fllling up at night.I was put on omep again and then after 3 months endoscopy done - nothing found. Now I have bad bile taste in my mouth and awful betwen shoulder pains that I had before. Another Doc put me back on OMEP, why is this happening??

I would suggest you find a different GI specialist. It does sound possibly like the gallbladder, however you may want an x-ray of the area of pain and the gallbladder, followed by a full panel blood test to rule anything else out.

Also, write a food journal of everything you eat for 2 weeks and see what the pattern is. It could be something you are eating. Good Luck!
