Q: Possible ectopic pregnancy?

2 positve HPTs,1 BHCG of 569 on 15th jan 09. Had a transvaginal scan, which showed a possible pregnancy sac in the uterus, but may still be very early. also showed 'something' between the right ovary and the uterus. Was told to come back on sunday(48hrs) for another blood test to measure the rise of hcg and then another scan in 10 days time.
However, hospital then rang and said dont come for blood test, but come in on monday 19th jan for another scan, but no explanation as to why, other than a doctor had assesed my case?

Please can anyone shed some light? is it because the bloods may have shown no rise and therefore more likely to be an ectopic?

If not ectopic, then what could this other thing they can see be?

many thanks
natalie

It seems unlikely they'd put off the thought of ectopic pregnancy and postpone seeing you. It seems more likely they think everything is fine and it isn't necessary for you to have the other blood work taken.

But they have decided to do another scan instead of the blood tests? so you think maybe they dont think its ectopic and more likely to just be a very early positive?! trying to work it out and think i may actually only be 4 weeks pregnant!

thank you for your reply!

That would be more inline with what I'd think.

Good luck at your scan!

Can I ask what made you think you were pregnant? The reason I ask is because I had my tubes tied 6 years ago i have'nt had a period since November I have some symptoms or pregnancy but i took a hpt and it came back neg.
