Do you have cervical cancer or dysplasia? There is a difference. What testing have you had other than a pap smear? What were those results? What has your doctor recommended?

Generally, a very simple LEEP or Cone is needed to remove the bad cells that are on your cervix. You can get pregnant nearly immediately afterward and there is no risk to pregnancy or babies.

my result(biopsy)
specimen shows fragments of malignant neoplasm arising from the lining epethelium of the cervix and composed of a typical epithelical cells of squamous differentiation forming nest, solid sheets and tongues.there is no apparent keratin formation.the tumor cells posses large, hyperchromatic and pleomorphic nuclei, some with prominent nuclei, surrounded by scant cytoplasm.several mitotic figures are identified (0-2 per high power field).the supporting stroma is scanty and infiltrated with lymhocytes and palsma cells.hemorrhage and necrosis are also onserved in some fragments.

Diagnosis:non-keratinizing,large cell squamos cell carcinoma

I'm not a doctor. What kind of 'surgery' would you be having?

Chemotherapy for cervical cancer? What type of chemo? How many rounds? Did you go into medically induced menopause? How long has it been since your treatment? Have your periods returned to normal? Was a radical hysterectomy done?

The reason your doctor said not to have sex for 6 weeks was because of the risk of infection. You do not want to add an infection on top of what you have going on. So the answer is NO do not start trying to have a baby when you've been advised not to have sex.

You can try as soon as you can start having sex again.

Your leep has not affected your fertility.

These are GREAT questions for your gynecologist.

Bad cells
Ok I have been going through alot of stuff but I will start from the beginning! Ok about 4 yrs ago I had a abnormal pap and then I went in for a colposcopy and they said I was ok. So I thought I wouldn't have a period for a little while and I still haven't had a full one! I went to alot of docs trying to find out what was going on.

So this past two months I have found a doc that was willing to help me find out what was going on. I have done another colposcopy and then a leep. The doctor said it wasn't cancer but that I have alot of bad cells and he recommends a full hysterectomy! I'm 22 years old and I really want a child of my own! I wanted to adopt children too but I want a child of my own too. Now what does alot of bad cells mean, cause I have read tons of things and it all has to do with cancer? Someone plz help me!!!
