Q: Possibility of pregnancy and lack of a period
asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 21st, 2009
I had twin girls on january in january 2009. I had my tubes tied when they did the c-section. It is now April 2009 and I had not had a period since I had bleeding after the birth of my twins. Could I be pregnant. I take bp pills that cause birth defect and I am scared that I could be?

According to the information you provided, it is possible that your menstrual cycle might not have been completely restored, possibly due to inadequate hormonal production after the birth.

However, you might want to visit your gynecologist to check if you are pregnant because, in a very small percentage of patients, there is still a possibility to become pregnant if the tubes were not tied completely or successfully.
