Q: Possibility of balanitis or urethritis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on December 23rd, 2008
i had unprotected anal sex with another guy, i penetrated him and it was a lil rugh cause lack of lubricant, after sex the head of the penis was sore and felt a lil of unconfort, the next day i had a lil of dryness on the tip of the head, and four days after i have itchyness and sometimes a lil of a burning feeling, also noticed that i urinate more often on small portions, no discharge, no burning while urinating or after urinating either, i am worried if i have an std or an infection or something like that or is just a reaction for the lack of lubricant? are this symptoms for anything?

Current medical status: i had anal unprotected sex with another guy, i penetrated to him and it was a lil rugh cause lack of lubricant, after sex i was sore and had a unconfort on head of penis, next day i had a lil of dryness on the tip of the head and four days after i have a lil of itchyness and somethimes a lil burning feeling once in a while, also i noticed that i urinate more often on small portions, no discharges burning while urinating or after, are this symptoms of ANYTHING in particular?
Current medical treatment: none

Given the data you reported, you might be experiencing an infection of the penis (balanitis) or the urethra (urethritis). The infection has not spread yet to the bladder, so the discharge and burning while urinating are not present. A fungal infection can not be excluded either.

You might want to visit a urologist and have a swab from the urethra and the glans of the penis with antibiogram.
