Hi, I tested positive for TB recently and I have been refered to a doctor for chest X-RAY in the next 3weeks. I think 3weeks is too long and I do not know how long I have been infected also. Can i ask the doctor about how long I have lived with this? I do not feel really sick at the moment but I have had on and off coughs, swollen neck glands and chilly chest pains. The last time I had this symptom was just december 2008 and the cough stayed for about 2weeks. I normally get these symptoms after exposure to dust or smoke and in the form of cold with dripping nose and slight head pains. Is TB completely curable and will I test negative after treatment in case my xray is abnormal? What do you think my xray will look like? I am very worried about this cos I thought with TB, patients must be severely sick with strong cough etc. Pls help me.

Its case to case basis. Normally it is completely curable. As you have mentioned your case, I believe its very early stage.
Normally it takes 9 months with 3 months plus and minus with just medication.

It depends if it is infectious or non infectious in your case, about which Doctor can inform you after seeing your x-ray report.

But nothing to worry about, just remember one thing, take proper and regular does of medication as prescribed.
