Q: Position of uterus

I had a transvaginal ultrasound during which the technician had a hard time finding my uterus. She finally pointed the instrument inside me, towards my spine and remarked "oh, there it is" I asked her why she had a hard time finding it and she described its position as "laying down." I then asked her if it's position would make it more difficult for me to have kids. She said that Doctors used to say that it would make it more difficult, but have now decided it makes no difference. My husband and I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to concieve and I just want to know if this issue might be adding to the difficulty.

I was told this very same thing when I had my hysterectomy...The OB-GYN was surprised that I did not have sexual pain during my life because of this tilt...He said that my husband must have been pounding on my cervix...Only after we were again able to be sexual did I notice how much more wonderful that sex could be...

As far as getting pregnant, we had no trouble...Seeing you are having a hard time with this, may I suggest what we did with #2 and #3....We had sex every day....#2 was right on time but for some reason we missed it on #3...He was one month off....One more suggestion, morning sex is the best...You are both at the height of passion and the man is extra strong...Then lay back for a while and let it soak in....May sound crude but it helps...

I wish you luck in your conceiving....

Take care,
Caroline
