Clicking / popping sound under rib cage
Hi All,

Doing a search on the internet has brough up this site, the symtoms you are all describing sound very simular to what im experiencing, like a popping / clicking under my left rib cage, just near the solar plexus and its constant when im sitting back against a chair with stomach musscles relaxed. Im also having this wierd neck/gum/bottom fron teeth sensation that is uncomftable so dont know if related. the popping doesnt hurt just "noisy" and im noticing it more when im moving / driving , almost like a gurgle but higher up.

Any ideas?

I have the same thing. I went to the doctors, only to come up empty handed with no potential information as to what it might be. I got an X-Ray, and it did show up. However, they said it was a "normal anomaly", in what case I highly doubt. I've been doing frantic research, as I am worried sick about it, and I've come from possibilities of Gastritis, to even an ulcer. All of the possible causes I researched are linked to "possible upper abdominal discomfort" and therefore I believe it would take a lot of testing to figure out exactly what it is. Anyone who has this should seek a doctors help, and try to get as many tests done. Ex: X-rays/Blood tests/etc... Good luck to all who have this weird discomfort.

I have the same problem (excluding the gas) I'm 16 and I've had this problem for the last year and a half. The "thing" is under my right rib though. I went to several doctors and did a lot of tests last year and they said that 'there wasn't anything there'. I get very short of breath when running now (and im not out of shape) and i can constantly feel it, not in a painful way, just an irritating way. I thought it was the rib itself, but now i dont know what this 'thing' is. I just want it to go away.

Everyone I have had this exact problem for a year and a half and have been shooed off by docs as I have little pain. I have been back several times and demanded tests.all clear. im 24, non smoking, slightly underweight. I have no pain. However I believe this is a muscular and gastro problem. Here's why. Might be a bit gruesome, but I feel a sensitivity or dull ache in the same area when I squeeze the muscles you use when u go toilet for the business. Its tender. I hav also been told I have nervous stomach and IBS. All of which cause slight bloating. I think the bloating irritates this muscle and pushes it slightly outta place, causing the discomfort, but no feeling of lump or hardness. Also it never happens over the other side. And when I was pregnant and the baby moved all my organs, this problem stopped temporarily. Also I eat very sporadically and dont have regular meals. When I manage to, these symptoms seem better. Heat from a water bottle and bath provide temporary relief. Learning reflexology now to ease it. Its hard to stop because its actually a new awareness of this part of our body, and we have to unlearn the habit of noticing it. Hope this helps. xxx
