Typical comment from a chiropractor, and it sure keeps you coming back and paying more and more bills, but no cure for the problem.

Your brother needs to see a spine specialist ASAP. Either an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in spines or a neurosurgeon that specializes in spines only.

He needs a full evaluation from a spinal specialist, an MRI and then a diagnosis can be made and a treatment plan to help ease your brother's pain.

In the mean time, stay away from the chiropractor.

I have personaly gone to a chiropractor my whole life and i kinda agree with littleonefb. But they do do some good. I have the same kinda problem after a really bad car accident. He first needs to go to the real doctor and tell the doctor whats going on. The doctor will ask a bunch of questions and i mean a bunch! They will do an x-ray first and some tests. Thats when the doctor tells you were you need to go. I went to an orth surgeon and they didnt figure out what was wrong for almost two years later when it was too late to fix without going under the knife!
Good luck with it all and i hope it goes a lot better for him then it did with me!!
