I was absolutely dissapointed when my TMJ Dentist at a local University said that the other dentists who prescribed my MRI did not send me to the correct location and therefore he can't make out anything in the MRI. He says any good MRI of the TMJ has to use 'surface coils' to more efficiently see the soft tissue. I may have to pay for another one out of pocket. This makes me absolutely furious that this was not explained to me or anthing before I spent 800 on the first one. I searched the internet for MRI/TMJ and could not see specific instructions for it either. Is this common knowledge amongst the TMJ community/Patients that you need 'suface coils' and all sorts of other preparations for an MRI of the TMJ Joints? Thanks.
