An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus. Usual site is a fallopian tube. It is diagnosed by an ultrasound through the vaginal route.
It is true that all the causes enumerated usually cause a missed or delayed period for a long time. However, it can start any time in a woman's life. So, if pregnancy is ruled out be blood tests and ultrasound, these causes will have to be looked into.
