Q: PMS Valproic Acid

I've been diagnosed with Bipolar II. The current medication i've been prescribed is valproic acid. Lately, I've been noticing some weird things such as allgeric/rashy skin, sensitivity to sunlight & on/off pain on my right side around om hip bone.

Is this normal? What are the common side effects of taking PMS valproic acid
