Okay so me and my boyfriend have been having un protected sex for about a year now. We had sex on feb 22 and my periods normally come on the 15th. I was on birth control for about 5 months but stopped about 4 months ago. So on the 17th I had some brown on my underware and some light pink blood which I have never had that before... So I am very worried about this and I was wondering if someone could help me. Also I have had strange cramp like pains in my lower stomach. So please let me know what you think this is. Thanks

HI
Welcome to eHealth. First, is there a reason you are having UNPROTECTED sex? My motto is if your're gonna dance you gotta pay the fiddler. Or, is it you are ready to start a family? Gonna say to you what I've told my own daughter. You take a chance of getting pregnant everytime you have sex....PERIOD. Not every birth control method is 100%. I stopped taking hte pill when I decided ot have my dauughter. I was off hte pill for almost 3 months. I had hte exact symptoms you are describing, no real period but the brown discharge and then the light faint pink blood. My suggestion to you, if you have not had a period since February, I'd suggest at least wait until the end of this month and if you still have not had a period, go to a family planning (health clinic and getting a pregnancy test). Or you can pay out the hoo hoo and get a home pregnancy test. No one here can say' "hey, you are pregnant", but there is ALWAYS that possiblity, when you are NOT using protection....Hope this helps!

I can't "professionally" answer this question because I do not know. I'd THINK, if you are having a period, then NO you would not be pregnant. But, I have known women who actually had a period while pregnant. Not common, but it can happen. I'd suggest making an appointment to speak with a professional who could do a pregnancy test....just in case? Health Department does family planning based on your income. Good luck!
